The spear sparks controversy.

The controversial painting of the president has caused political and racial uproar. Popular social network, twitter has been abuzz over the last couple of days with people showing outrage of how “disrespectful” the painting was while others have simply justified it as practising one of the most fundamental rights which is freedom of expression.

Understandably, perhaps, people will show outrage as people are raised differently and see things differently. However, I think that the ‘battle’ that this painting has caused should be fought by the president and his family and not the entire presidency.

I also think that this painting has evoked emotions and rubbed salt on wounds that have been battling to heal. It also revealed that South Africans are two-faced. Had it been F. W De Klerk on the painting, maybe, just maybe, the reaction would have been different.

Let me know what do you think.
