REVIEW: 50 shades of Grey

It's a book I've read long ago, but here is the review!

I’ve heard the hype and it got me interested on what was this book about. Eventually, I read it. I’m not a fan of romance novels, but this one got me hooked. And no, not because it was fantastically written, but because I certainly wanted to finish the book even though I predicted half way through the book of it was going to end.

50 shades of Grey which is a trilogy written by E. L James. In this book which is dubbed as the mommy porn, it explicitly reveals the gory details of a young couple’s sex life. Christian and Anastasia are young adults who met when Anastasia conducted an interview about Christian – a successful and wealthy businessman.

It all starts when a literature student, Anastasia Steel interviews an influential, successful businessman, Christian Grey for a newspaper article. With their eyes locked to one another and feelings developed.  Even though Anastasia fantasised about a romantic relationship, Christian, however, wanted to be sexually involved and in control.

In the book, Christian’s attitude to relationships is badly affected by his past of sexual abuse by his mother’s friend. He legally binds his potential sexual projects and requires them to be submissive, controls what they eat and when must they be available to him.

James also tells how Christian has a room full of sexual equipment where his clientele is set to do the deed.  Ranging from handcuffs to ropes and poles, among many, these some of the things which occupy what he calls – red room.
